Parents should make every effort to stay for practices.
This makes it easier for you to get all the information that you may need from the coaches or team moms. Occasionally an inclement weather situation will arise which forces us to end practice early. The girls who have been dropped off have no way home and the coach or team mom must wait. Please make every effort to have a responsible adult present at all times. (This also becomes an issue in the event of an injury or other emergency.) If you must leave your child, please let the coach know in advance and be on time to pick them up. The children should not be made responsible for arranging their own rides home!
IF LATE PICK-UP OR MISSING PRACTICE BECOMES A RECURRING PROBLEM, YOUR CHILD MAY BE DROPPED FROM THE SQUAD.

| SIGN-IN/SIGN-OUT: Each cheerleader will be signed in and out of practice by the adult responsible for her. The head coach will establish their squad's sign-in procedure the first week of practice. This is for your child's safety, and there will be no exceptions! |
| LOCATION OF GAMES: All GFL games are played at parks or high schools around Gwinnett County, including Loganville. There is an admission charge, generally $3.00 for adults and .50 for students. The cheerleaders are admitted free. If you are attending more than one game in a single day you may have your hand stamped and be readmitted to any park in the GFL free of charge. Cheerleaders should also have their hand stamped if they plan to attend another game. |
| LYFA CHEER CAMP: Cheer camp is scheduled for July 27th- July 30th. It will be held at Loganville Middle School from 6-7:30. More details will be given later. |
| REFRESHMENTS: Please provide your daughter with a water bottle to use during practices and games, since the girls do get very hot. No food or drinks other than water are allowed during practices or games. Snacks to celebrate birthdays after practice or game are allowed. Please let your coach know in advance. DO NOT bring food to your child while she is cheering! |
| RESTROOM BREAKS: Cheerleaders should always go to the restroom before practices and games. There are no breaks scheduled for this purpose. If a child needs to go to the restroom during practice, it is the parent's responsibility to take her. Coaches cannot stop practice for this. |
UNIFORMS: Each cheerleader is expected to appear at each game in the full correct uniform, with hair pulled away from the face using the hair ribbon provided to her. Girls not appearing in the correct uniform may be asked to sit out.
In cold weather the cheerleader should wear the uniform jacket over the uniform unless otherwise notified by the coach. The body liner should not be worn unless the coach asks for it. Gloves or mittens should be red, white or black. Clear rain ponchos are acceptable.
No colored nail polish may be worn with the uniform, and no long nails are allowed. No acrylic or other artificial nails are allowed. This is a safety issue!
The girls do not need to wear heavy makeup. Glitter of any type is not allowed. Sunscreen and lip balm are a good idea to prevent sunburn in hot weather. Please remove tattoos of all types while in uniform. Also, no face painting before games, please!
It is traditional that the girls may wear the uniform to school on Fridays during the season. (Check your school's dress code to make sure you are in compliance.) Shoes should be worn only with the uniform, not as everyday school or play shoes until after the season is over. Please take good care of your uniform and shoes! |
