2007 LOGANVILLE RED DEVIL FOOTBALL
INFORMATION & REGULATIONS
|
|
Welcome to another exciting season with Loganville Youth Football Association. Please read this information carefully, some things have changed, and keep it handy so that you can refer back—it has important dates and information to answer your some of your questions. |
|
| Refunds: There will not be any refunds. |
PRACTICE FACILITIES: Loganville Middle & High Schools are generous enough to allow us to use their facilities for our practices and games. However, they expect us to exercise common courtesy in return. Please read and follow these basic rules. Not following the rules may lead to your child being asked to leave the team.
Cleaning: Clean up after yourself & your children. We are responsible for maintaining trash and cleanliness of the fields and bathrooms.
Parking: Do not park on the grass or along the curb at the High School. Do not block any entrances/exits. There is parking on the lower field at the High School. Please use this area by parking along the tree line and not parking in the middle of the fields as cheerleaders and football teams practice there. This means-do not drives through the middle of the lower field or along the fence line. Children are everywhere playing/practicing and driving along the fence or through the field is dangerous and also causes ruts in the field. Those ruts in the field are dangerous to “running football players” and cheerleaders who are doing stunts. They could and have twisted ankles or worse.
Children/Players: Please keep children who are not practicing under supervision. Do not allow them on the practice field. Keep your players and cheerleader under supervision before and after practice.
Restrooms: Behind the High School there is a field house with restrooms, please go with your child to the restroom. We are responsible for the restrooms and that includes the cleaning. If they are locked then your coach/team mom should be able to get them unlocked for you. .
We do not want to jeopardize losing a place to practice. You are responsible for all personal property. |
| FUNDRAISING: LYFA sells "RED DEVIL SPIRIT WEAR" t-shirts, sweatshirt, hats, car tags, tote bags etc… The proceeds go to support our program, and it is a great way to show your team support and Loganville Spirit. |
| PROGRAMS & SPONSORSHIPS: New Vendor: LYFA offers a program book each year with team pictures and advertising from local merchants. We have a new vendor this year for printing of our books. It will have a new look. We encourage you to take out an ad to help support our program and to buy a book as a keepsake. This ad can include your child’s picture (taken at Picture Day) and a message or sentiment to the child from parents, grandparents, etc… This year we will continue to offer other avenues of advertising for our local businesses. We will be selling 8' x 4' and 4’ x 4’ fence signs for the stadium. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Dee Lambert at 770-466-9534 home or 404-456-2063 cell or deedawg@comcast.com |
| PICTURES: Individual and team pictures will be taken August 9, 2010. Lots and lots of package selections will be available. Pictures for the program book will also be taken at this time. Your team picture time will be provided by your team mom closer to that date. Picture Buttons will be available after Picture Day by your team mom. |
SEASON, SCHEDULES & LOCATION OF GAMES: LYFA is a member of the Gwinnett Football League. All games are played at various parks & schools in Gwinnett County including Loganville. The season runs from the first day of practice (in late July) through the month of October. If a football team makes the playoffs, the season extends through November. Please remember this when making plans. Football is a team sport and if one member is not there it affects the whole team. All games are played on Saturdays. In case of inclement weather, your game may be rescheduled to a Sunday (this seldom happens).
There is an admission charge (generally $3.00 for adults, $1.00 for children/students) for these games. The football players & cheerleaders are FREE (in uniform). These charges help defray cost the home fields incurs: paying officals, lighting, field maintenance to name a few. If you are attending more then one park/game that day then remember to get your hand stamped, so that you will not have to pay again for re-entry at the other park/game. On occasion your game location and time can be changed after the schedule is set, so please check with your coach/team mom before you leave Thursday practice.
We will not receive a game day schedule until the week of our first or second game; you will be given a schedule as soon as it is finalized by the GFL. Keep in mind this is a complicated process. There were over 235 teams in the GLF 2009 season and over 1020 regular season games played in the GFL league. |
| REFRESHMENTS: We will provide water at all practices and games. Anything else is provided by you and decided by each team individually. |
GAME DAY & UNIFORM: All players will be required to be at the game in uniform earlier than game time (approx. 45 minutes-1 hour). Each boy is required to come to the game in full uniform, if not they will not be able to play.
Coming early allows time for traffic, accidents, and warming-up, etc... Please make sure you arrive at the park at the designated time given by your coach. Sometimes parks will be behind schedule which is beyond our control, but other times they may be on schedule and if you show 10 minutes before the game starts, your son will not get appropriate warming up and stretching time which can lead to injuries. |
